Burntcoat Head, located on the Noel Shore along the south side of the Minas Basin, is the location of the greatest tidal range ever recorded on the planet (when you took the "spring" tide simply) & has one of a greatest typical tidal ranges daily. A waters of Minas Bay exchange by owning a independent section of the Bay of Fundy through the Minas Channel which flows past Cape Split, creating super hard tidal flow.

Many crucial lakes inside Nova Scotia drain into a Minas Basin: Shubenacadie River, Cornwallis River, Avon River, and a Salmon River. A eastmost part of the Minas Basin is besides known as Cobequid Bay.
